About Onsu
An Asian-inspired bakery and patisserie in Soho opened in January 2026 by Michael Kwan, formerly executive pastry chef at The Dorchester. It is known for its wagyu beef curry bun and precise East Asian-flavoured pastries and cakes. Soft, pillowy East Asian–style breads and pastries set it apart from a typical British bakery. Regulars tend to come back for wagyu beef curry bun, salted egg yolk mille-feuille, black truffle toast and egg tart.
Onsu has not published regular opening hours in the sources we use, so it is worth calling ahead or checking social media before a special trip.
Arriving by public transport? Head for Leicester Square Underground station; from there it is a walk of about 4 minutes. 8 other bakeries sit within about ten minutes' walk, which makes Soho a good area to compare loaves and cakes. From central London it is roughly 0.4 mi away. Practical notes: wheelchair accessible.
